New: Social Media volunteer — Instagram & Facebook

Have 20 minutes a week? That's genuinely all this takes. The posts, images, and captions are all made for you — this role is about clicking a few links, copying and pasting, and adding the human touch a robot can't. Your 20 minutes help more people get out, find something to do, and connect with others in their community.

The Facebook side (about 20 minutes each Thursday): everything is ready in a simple weekly kit — open a few links, copy/paste the week's post, upload the photos, done. You can post just your own community's kit (Bishop & Area or Mammoth & Area) or both — your call.

The Instagram side (a few short check-ins a week): our account posts a few times each week on its own. This role shares those posts to Stories, tags the organizers so they can reshare, and does the friendly engaging — replying, liking, following local orgs — that keeps a community account feeling like a neighbor rather than a bulletin board.

This could be one person or split between two or three — Facebook and Instagram make natural halves, and Facebook splits again by community. No social media experience needed beyond using it like a normal human.

Interested? Email Andrew at andrew@bishoplocal.com and say which part sounds like you — he'll send you the kit and walk you through the first week.

What Event Scouts do

Scouts are our eyes on the ground. When you spot a flyer on a community board, a sandwich board outside a shop, or a poster at the library, snap a photo and send it in. We read it, sort it, and get the event onto the calendar — you don't have to type a thing.

Help spread the word

Not the flyer-hunting type? There's plenty more: share our posts, suggest events or venues we should be watching, help with social media, or just tell your neighbors the calendar exists. Small nudges add up — especially in the Mammoth area, where we're still growing.

This week's events poster

Every time you click a button below, we build a fresh printable poster of the next 7 days of events, starting right now — one for Bishop & Area, one for Mammoth & Area. Print one for your window, counter, break room, or community board. Events are grouped by category with a QR code to the full calendar, and it prints cleanly in black and white.

The poster takes about 60 seconds to generate — it's being made just for you, from the live calendar, the moment you click. Because it always covers the next 7 days from the moment it's made, download a fresh one each time you print rather than reusing a saved copy.

Posters & coloring pages

Print these and put them up wherever the community gathers — the library, the co-op board, a coffee-shop window. They're toner-light (easy on the ink), and every poster has a QR code that opens the calendar. Tap any image to download the full-size file.
