One calendar for the whole Eastern Sierra.
Free to read, no ads, no logins. Everything happening from Lone Pine to the Mono Basin, in two editions: Bishop & Area and Mammoth & Area.
How the calendar is made
Our mascot, Chalky, reads organizers' websites, Instagram and newsletters across the Eastern Sierra, and volunteer Event Scouts photograph flyers off community boards. Organizers can also add their own events.
A person checks every event before it goes up. We'd rather hold one for review than publish a guess, because a wrong date can send a family to a locked building. Once an event is approved, it goes on the calendar, into the Thursday email and onto Instagram.
- We scan local websites and Instagram
- Scouts photograph flyers
- A person checks each one
- It's on the calendar, in the Thursday email and on Instagram
Who's behind it
Find connection in the place we love.
A few local volunteers and me, Andrew Angus. Years ago I built a community calendar in Halifax; this is the same idea for the Eastern Sierra, run from a converted school bus. The longer story →
Keeping it going
It's free for everyone, and it always will be. If it helps you, chip in to cover the costs.
